‘Last Dance’ x Chloe Gallardo

It was the morning of September 16th past year when I woke with an email in my inbox containing just two simple sentences: Reaching out to share indie rock artist Chloe Gallardo‘s unreleased debut album produced by Jonny Bell. Would love to work together on the release if you are currently taking on new artists, album is linked below.

Normally it takes me a bit too long to pay attention to emails with new artist inquiries, purely because I already have enough work with the existing ones on the label. However, on this said morning, I was rather uninspired as far as the soundtrack to my morning cup of tea was concerned, so I clicked on the soundcloud link sent by Chloe. WOW! Shoegaze bedroom pop for fans of Broadcast, Soccer Mommy, My Bloody Valentine or Alexandra Savior.

Right off the bat, I was probably her newest biggest fan, so I’d love to share the beginning of this story with you… Today her first single from an upcoming album is released on Taxi Gauche Records: Having a more serious tone than her previous works, ‘Last Dance’ touches on the emotional toll of an unreciprocated love affair and losing one’s self in a person. Gallardo paints a picture of a painful relationship and coming to terms with its repercussions, while still foolishly yearning for something more.

Out now on all streaming platforms and bandcamp.
